Meet Kris
A native of New Rochelle, New York who spent his adolescence in Vermont, cutting his teeth in the Burlington music scene, Kris began his journey into audio production by recording demos for local bands in his parents’ basement. He concurrently began to teach his first guitar students, and would unknowingly begin a career in music now spanning 20 years, and hundreds upon hundreds of students, clients, and musicians.
After an internship at Imaginary Road Studios, working for Grammy award winners - famed Windham Hill Records founder, artist, and producer Will Ackerman and engineer Corin Nelson, Kris returned to the NYC metro area to attend the Conservatory of Music at SUNY Purchase College and graduated magna cum laude in 2008 with a BM in Studio Production, all the while making records, and teaching students on guitar and bass.
Kris entered a period of busy touring as a guitarist in the 2010s, logging tens of thousands of miles in the van, which would serve as a masterclass in musical performance and consistency, as well as the beginnings of learning the ins and outs of live production, and the touring industry.
Over 15 years, he engineered at studios all over New York, including a couple of brief stints as part owner, which ultimately lead him to the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina to put together the home studio he always wanted, serving as a mix/master suite, and online teaching space.
Kris’ current clients include the multi-award winning & chart-topping Old Gods of Appalachia podcast, Sunset Blvd Records, working on both new and archival releases, and Lagond Music School, where he guides and preps students for the music industry & college process.
